1. Scope and roles
This notice applies to Roofing Genie's website, business communications, accounts, and hosted service. When a roofing company supplies property, homeowner, or claim-workspace information, that company generally controls the information and Roofing Genie processes it under the company's instructions. Individuals should direct requests about a contractor-controlled job record to that contractor first.
2. Information we handle
- Business contact, account, role, organization, authentication, and preference information.
- Customer-directed property and job information, such as addresses, homeowner contacts, roof measurements, photos, video, estimates, receipts, policy documents, claim identifiers, and correspondence.
- Device, browser, IP address, login, usage, security, audit, cookie, and diagnostic information.
- Information returned by authorized integrations, including Google Maps Platform address and Solar API Building Insights data when those features are enabled.
- Sales demo requests, contact consent, support, contract, subscription, usage, invoice, and business communications.
3. How we use information
We use information to respond to requested demonstrations; provide, secure, support, and improve the service; authenticate users; administer subscriptions and usage; perform customer instructions; organize supplied evidence; create drafts for human review; calculate deterministic roof takeoffs and quotes from confirmed facts; maintain audit and integrity records; communicate; prevent misuse; comply with law; and protect customers and the service.
Customer claim content is not used to train models shared across customers without an express opt-in. Provider secret keys remain server-side and are not placed in customer records or prompts.
4. Google Maps Platform information
When an authorized customer enables Google-backed property features, a saved property address may be sent server-side to Google Maps Platform for address resolution and Solar API Building Insights. Google may process information under the Google Privacy Policy. Roofing Genie displays required attribution and applies the use, cache, and retention limits in the applicable Google terms.
Google-derived roof information is kept separate from contractor field measurements. It is used only in an enabled, reviewed workflow and is removed or retained according to the applicable provider rights and customer retention schedule.
5. Disclosures
Information may be disclosed to authorized customer users and administrators; approved hosting, storage, AI, mapping, security, communications, billing, metering, and support providers, including Stripe, Metronome, and Resend when configured; professional advisers; a successor in a corporate transaction; or authorities when required by valid legal process. Roofing Genie does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law.
6. Retention and deletion
Retention depends on the customer agreement, configured schedule, data type, provider terms, backup cycle, security needs, legal obligations, disputes, and documented legal holds. Google Solar data is subject to provider-specific cache and storage limits. Customer-directed records are returned or deleted under the customer agreement and applicable data-processing terms.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information, including organization-scoped access, role controls, private storage, audit records, and integrity checks. No system is risk-free. Users must protect credentials and promptly report suspected compromise.
8. Choices and rights
Depending on location, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, restrict, object to, or appeal processing of personal information. Use the privacy or support contact stated in the applicable customer order form or workspace. We may verify identity and authority, apply legal exceptions, and route requests for customer-controlled records to the relevant roofing company.
9. Children, location, and changes
The service is for businesses and is not directed to children. Information may be processed where Roofing Genie and its providers operate, subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards. We may update this notice and will post the revised date and provide additional notice for material changes where required.
